5eyes Nature-Lab is a small-scale working experiment in sustainable living — a place where natural building, integrated farming, forest gardening and creative reuse come together to explore practical ways of living more lightly on the land.
At 5eyes, sustainability is something to experience rather than simply talk about. We build with natural and reclaimed materials, grow food through integrated farming and forest-garden systems, reuse what would otherwise become waste, and look for simple, practical solutions that work with nature rather than against it.
The land itself becomes a natural canvas for some of our most interesting accommodation. Our stays are designed around the landscape, using natural materials, thoughtful design and the existing ecology to create places that are comfortable, unusual and connected to the environment.
This is also a place to learn by doing. Workshops explore natural building, food growing, fermentation, composting, making, repair and other practical skills drawn from the systems we use every day. Our field trips give students and groups the opportunity to experience sustainable living first-hand, seeing how different parts of a working site can connect and support one another.
At the heart of 5eyes is the belief that sustainable living does not have to mean giving up comfort, creativity or good food. It can mean making better use of what we already have, growing more of what we need, building thoughtfully, wasting less and finding interesting ways to live well within the limits of the natural world.
5eyes Nature-Lab is a place to stay, make, grow, learn and explore — a living example of what sustainable living can look like.
